About

Congratulations! You stumbled upon the website of Emmie Bristow’s writing. Here, you’ll find all the published works by Emmie, as well as other projects she’s working on.

Emmaline “Emmie” Bristow grew up in Helena, Montana and attended the University of Montana for her Bachelors in English with emphasis in creative writing and literature. She also obtained her Master of Fine Arts in poetry from Drew University. Emmie’s writing centers around place and memory and how the two affect her identity. She has deep roots in Montana. Focusing on the motifs of dust and dirt, weathered materials, as well as her own identity as a Montana woman, she has found a path in her writing that both excites and inspires her daily. When exploring memory, it is inherently linked to place, and that place, for Emmie, has shown itself to at once be decaying before her eyes as well as living beneath her feet. Emmie currently lives in Helena and works as a production editor for Farcountry Press.

If you want to keep up with Emmie in her everyday world, follow her on Facebook under “Emmie Bristow or on Instagram @emmie.bristow. She would suggest you also follow her on Twitter @emmie_bristow, but she doesn’t love Twitter and only has like six tweets on there.

You can also keep up with her project with sculptor friend Erica Selby where they weave poetry into sculptures on Facebook at E&E Create and Instagram @eande.create
